and abroad and during the times several hundred singers have sung in the
choir. The founder of the choir was conductor Vaike Uibopuu, and since
then it has been conducted by Tiiu Jaanus, Tiiu Otsus, Riho Leppoja, Kalev
Lindal, Karin Herne and Triin Koch. In 2003 Triin Koch was awarded the
title of „The Young Conductor of the Year“ by the Estonian

the last one being the Christmas Oratorio by J. S. Bach together with
the Pärnu Chamber Choir and the City Orchestra of Pärnu at Christmas
2002 and 2003. Despite foreign festivals and performances one important
aim of the choir has always been performing Estonian music in Estonia.
Therefore the repertoire of the choir contains the creation of Gustav
Ernesaks, Eduard Tubin, Arvo Pärt, Ester Mägi, Lembit Veevo,
Veljo Tormis, Cyrillus Kreek, Miina Härma, Mart Saar and several
other Estonian composers. Lately the choir has often performed Russian
Orthodox music as well as other works of choral music classics from abroad.
A wide range of repertoire has granted the choir music lovers both inside
the choir and in the concert hall beautiful musical moments.
In 2001 the singers and the alumni of the choir founded a Foundation "Tartu
University Chamber Choir" in order to support the choir. The Chamber
